Dad fashion always gets a bad rep, but supermodels have been pulling from the dad uniform a lot recently. First, there was the surge in trucker hats. Then there was the vest-as-shirt stage. Now supermodels are fully embracing khaki pants and making us reconsider why we don't already own fifteen pairs.
While out in Manhattan, Gigi Hadid wore a pair of Brain Dead khaki trousers that are currently part of the major markdowns at Ssense's sale. She styled them with a simple black tank top worn over a lace bra, layers of gold necklaces by Martha Calvo, and a pair of all-black Converse high tops.
The appeal of khaki pants feels obvious. They're comfortable, easy to style with a multitude of items, and aren't as trendy as ultra baggy jeans or as contentious as skinny denim. And yet, we let dads wear them instead of considering investing in some for our own wardrobe. For shame.
Thankfully this wrong is easy to right with so many options available at stores like Nordstrom or Free People. And there are various styles to choose from, whether you want a tried and true pair of Dickies or an elevated take by Rag & Bone. Essentially, they have approval from Gigi Hadid and every dad on the planet — and that's more than we could ask for.
