The Elgin Symphony Orchestra’s January Listeners Club event at the Gail Borden Library has been canceled.
With COVID cases spiking in Kane County, the library won’t hold any in-person events in January. Some events may be rescheduled or held virtually, while others will be canceled.

The Jan. 8 and 9 concerts at the Hemmens Cultural Center are still planned to happen.
Those performances will feature guest conductor Lidiya Yankovskaya and pianist Schaghajegh Nosrati playing Wagner’s “Flying Dutchman WW63,” Clara Schumann’s “Piano Concerto in A Minor,” and Brahm’s “Symphony No. 2 in D Major.”
The Listeners Club events feature a musician talking about and playing music from an upcoming concert. Another is currently scheduled for Feb. 2 in advance of their concerts on Feb. 5 and 6.
