It’s the most wonderful time of the year. But it’s also a time to be safe.
Out of an abundance of caution with an eye toward the recent spread of the omicron COVID-19 variant, Hey Nonny co-founders Chip Brooks and Chris Dungan announced Thursday that the Arlington Heights bistro and music venue will be pausing operations through much of January.
“Trying to ‘tough it out’ over the coming weeks would be the best course of action financially for Hey Nonny, but we just can’t do it — there are simply too many risks and too much uncertainty,” the owners said in an emailed statement.
Dinner service is still on the table through Friday, Dec. 31, after which the bistro will close. A reopening is scheduled for Friday, Jan. 28.
All musical performances until then have also been postponed; updates will be emailed to ticketholders about affected shows.
While Hey Nonny is working out plans to help their staff through this time, patrons who wish to pitch in can contribute online to the Tip Your Servers Fund at heynonny.com.
