Birkenstocks, pool slides, thong heels, oh my! The shoe trends taking over this summer are about as varied (and sometimes controversial) as they get. That said, none are quite as eyebrow raising as the chunky, supremely comfy velcro dad shoes that Blake Lively just wore.
Lively was seen on a rare outing in New York City, and as per usual, her outfit was a 15 out of 10. We don't see her street style all that often, but when we do, we take the most detailed of notes. Lively's easy-going ensemble, perfect for all your upcoming summer adventures, consisted of denim shorts, a pink button-down, and a matching denim jacket.
She also reached for one of Hollywood's favorite accessories, the Bandolier crossbody phone case that, as the name suggests, is part crossbody, part phone case, rounding out the look with a pair of chunky Chanel dad sandals that are reigning supreme this summer.
The Chanel sandals, which cost $2,200, made their debut on the runway last year and quickly sold out thereafter. A year and some change later, the designer shoes are still as sought after as ever. In fact, Lively's exact pair with a raffia upper are nearly impossible to find, though we stumbled upon a few pairs being sold on Tradesy.
