Socks-with-sandals season is upon us, whether we like it or not. And though it's a classic fashion taboo, in its defense, it makes a lot of sense if you think about it. The air is not yet crisp enough for a sweater, but it's also not hot enough to sweat profusely. Wearing a pair of slides with socks might actually be the perfect move for this weird in-between weather.
Sarah Jessica Parker seems to agree that the look is having a moment right now. Naturally, she took the styling up a notch and did something we have never seen, dared, or even considered by pairing hot purple fishnet stockings with a pair of open-toe slides.

Parker isn't the first celebrity to endorse breaking this archaic fashion rule, either. Kaia Gerber and Cindy Crawford famously twinned in Birkenstocks and sandals last year, and Chloë Sevigny made it an essential part of her new-mom look.
