Ever since Katie Holmes had that iconic sexy cardigan moment, her ability to sartorially influence the masses with simple twists on the classics has been undeniable. It's like the new Markle Sparkle, but we have yet to come up with as catchy of a name to describe Holmes's impact on fashion (and on our wallets). After this past weekend, when Holmes was spotted in a white t-shirt and jeans, she had us coveting two very different accessories: One that is very expected for 2021, and one we haven't seen much of since 2015.
The former is a cowboy boot, which makes sense because the shoe style is having a major moment this season. If you're on TikTok, you've likely come across dozens of cowboy boots styled dozens of different ways on your For You Page, and Holmes shows the trend doesn't have to be intimidating. You don't have to go all Kacey Musgraves if you don't want! The boot looks just as good with a simple 'fit, and Nordstrom has so many to choose from for as little as $85.
The latter accessory, a simple bucket bag, feels less in line with the bag trends we're seeing now. Back in 2015, the Mansur Gavriel bucket bag was everywhere, and it spurred a bucket bag movement. that has since died down. But if Holmes has anything to do with it, the bucket bag will reign supreme once more. Mansur Gavriel has an updated take for the season that costs nearly $700, and Tory Burch and Kate Spade have options for less than half that.
