Here's the thing about me: I really don't like wearing gloves and thus, I rarely do. I was raised in Minnesota where temperatures can easily reach below 20 degrees, but even while shoveling, sledding, or ice skating — outdoor activities where gloves are pretty much a must — I went glove-free. This makes what I'm about to say all the more jaw-dropping: I would totally wear Bella Hadid's gloves, and here's why.
Hadid obviously didn't wear just any ol' gloves, and that's precisely why I'm so into them. The supermodel was photographed en route to Burberry's fall/winter 2022 fashion presentation in London Friday morning, wearing a full Burberry suit (obviously), chunky black sneakers, a white scarf that she elegantly wrapped around her head, and elegant black leather gloves.
Leather gloves exude Old Hollywood glam. Unlike most other run-of-the-mill hand warmers, those made from the buttery soft material offer both a practical and fashionable touch, with many now designed with cashmere linings for extra warmth and touchscreen-compatible fingertips for easy scrolling. Put simply, the accessory instantly makes any outfit, even if it's a simple jeans-and-tee ensemble, look more posh and expensive.
While we've seen leather (and leather-like) gloves regularly pop up on the red carpet in the last few years, we've also seen the accessory crop up a lot more in celeb street-style looks recently, with Hadid as one notable name leading the resurgence. Glam gloves were also all over the fall 2022 runways, making it all the more evident that they're a frontrunner for accessory of the year. (Watch out, bucket hats.)
