Prospect High School seniors Sean Pandaleon, Augie Mikes, Johnny Aldworth and Joey Craig started off the second day of the 56 Music Fix as Third Step on the Moon played at Mount Prospect’s Station 34.
The first set at a music festival can be a sparsely attended performance as patrons slowly wander in. But empty seats were rare at Station 34 when Mount Prospect rock band Third Step on the Moon launched day two of the 56 Music Fix Saturday.
Chicago-area musical acts, many from town, played across 11 venues and found performance spaces Friday and Saturday as part of the annual Mount Prospect event. And music buffs were ready for it, as festivalgoers excitedly trekked between concerts or browsed the goods at the 56 Artisan Fix, an arts and crafts fair at the Lions Park band shell Saturday afternoon.
The free celebration of music continues from noon to 9 p.m. Sunday with performances by General Joystick, Gina Gonzales, the 56 Hoot Band and more, including a Disney Sing-Along Party at Capannari’s for young music fans in training.
